Etymology of 2023 Marin Headlands 2 – Carbon Gravel Bike 2022

The word bicycle first appeared in English print in The Daily News in 1868, to describe “Bysicles and trysicles” on the “Champs Elysées and Bois de Boulogne”.

The Headlands takes what we have learned with the alloy Gestalt X line, and brings the spirit to an all-new, full carbon fiber frameset. Modern geometry, generous tire clearance, and sublime ride quality, all combine to make an incredibly capable, lightweight bike that’ll exceed your expectations.

LONG, LOW, AND SLACK 

“Long, low, and slack” trail mountain bike geometry has made its way into the Headlands, with features specifically designed to provide an engaging and exciting ride on singletrack trail or tarmac, be it up or down.

EYELET VERSATILITY

Plentiful eyelets on the frame allow for customization of gear and water storage and unlock the possibilities for customized frame bags to match your riding style. 

UNIDIRECTIONAL CARBON FIBER FRAME

The Headlands has a unidirectional carbon fiber frame designed to meet the demands of modern gravel and endurance riders and racers with large tyre clearance, multiple frame eyelets for customized hydration and frame bag needs.

WIDE-RANGE SHIMANO GRX 1X DRIVETRAIN

The Headlands frame is specifically designed for wide range of 1x drivetrains, allowing us to achieve short 420mm chainstays with 700x45mm max tire clearance.

TYRE CLEARANCE

The Headlands was designed with clearance for up to 700C x 45 or 650B x 50 tyres to handle even the roughest “roads.”

INTERNAL DROPPER POST

The Headlands features a seat tube port for internal dropper routing, with the Headlands 2 coming stock with a 105mm(Large & XL) /70mm (XS, Small, Medium) dropper post.

REMOVABLE SEAT STAY BRACE

The removable seat stay brace makes it super easy to add fenders for foul weather riding and commuting, while maintaining a clean smooth look when you don’t need the coverage.
